I work within 10 minutes of Little River Canyon in Northeast Alabama, so today for our lunch break me and a coworker jumped in the Jeep and rode out to the Wildlife Management Area to tour trails for a bit.....and the term 'trails' is used lightly b/c they are mainly just dirt roads.....

Being the short time we had to enjoy the outdoors there was no time to snap great pics.....until we came up on this....

 

That is one messed up Rattler, or is it molting?

 

Yep....looked like it had been there less than a day. Someone removed the rattles and sliced him pretty good across the back. I have lived here all my life and that is one of just a few timber rattlers I have ever seen...
