Talking Mary Ellen Gulch Run

we went up to MAry Ellen Gulch today. It was a beautiful day for a run. Afterwords, we went through cascade springs and up over the mountain to deer creek. Unfortunately due to snow, we weren't able to make to the mine or cabin, but it was still fun.

Xerofall decided to join us today (green JK).

Some snow almost over the trail, but now it was passable here.

the old outhouse next to the cabin we tried to get too

Myself at trails end unable to continue driving up to the mine.

Oh man... what a grueling trail, lol. This is the first time I've really done some damage to my Jeep. Lost a center cap and valve stem cover on my front passenger tire. Then, by my own fault I backed into the guy behind me and scuffed up my spare rim. At least he was cool about it, it only hit his fairlead. I'm glad I had those Rubi rock sliders, they got used. I'll have to get under to check out the rest, banged it up pretty good. Thank god for skid plates.

Learned that I need to get sway discos pretty quick. The best part was how all the other Jeepers were impressed that I made it through that trail being virtually stock in an X model, haha.

In this pic you can see the aftermath of an avalanche...

Thanks for sharing the fantastic pictures. I am surprised that there was still that much snow.

It was fun a fun trip. We had a lot more than normal spring snow this year. In fact Snowbird, just over the mountain had it's longest season ever. They were skiing on the 4th of July with both the tram and the upper lift open.

At the end of the trail where we ate lunch, there was a couple camped. As we were leaving they were just hiking up the snow to do some skiing themselves.

Hey Chris!

Looks like an awesome run! Thanks for sharing the pics.

Hope to wheel with ya in Moab again or in SLC. If you ever want to come down here for some SoCal rock crawlin', let me know. We can put something together anytime!
