It would be quite the ferry ride! very scenic!!!

Haha...there are roads!! Just not sure how you get to them! I have a friend from Smithers which is inland. I was looking on google but can't seem to find a way in to Juneau from the highway! There appears to be an ice mass blocking the way! lol

It would still be a great trip!!!

Why are you uncomfortable driving through Canada?
There is at least one route from BC to AK, and I'm gonna guess that it's cheaper to drive than take a fairy, although you will be in some pretty remote areas, which if you are solo, could be unnerving.

If you are gonna drive through BC, consider a detour up the Sea to Sky highway to Whistler and Pemberton. Google Sea to Sky Highway, and Whistler, BC. Apparently one of the most scenic drives in North America. Sounds like an Awesome trip either way.

Or even go through alberta and take the Alaska hwy! Take the glacier HWY between Banff and Jasper, stop and see the buffalo jump, See mile 0 of the Alaska Hwy in Dawson Creek BC, Kiskatinaw curved wooden bridge, Liard hot springs, very scenic trip. I drove from Whitehorse YT to Kelowna BC in an RX7 back when a lot of the HWY was still gravel. That wasn't so fun HAHAHA...I live in Grande Prairie AB which is right on the Alaska HWY Ive talked to alot of people who make that drive every year and they love it.

but I will consider all routes !!
actually we are quite civilized up here in the great white north and the roads are paved and we don't eat small children.
