Default Moab - not just for Jeeoing

So Thursday morning Jan 2nd, at around 8:17am I get a texted from my nephew...
"Yo uncle Mike I'm thinking of a road trip for some biking. Would you like to check out Moab? Wanna plan something? I say we leave immediately, Jeep & Mtn bikes...."
a few text messages are exchanged... I look up weather decide that I can take off the next day and half.... text him a few more times...........
his next text.....
"I say we grab our bikes, cold gear, and balls and hit the road..."

I think he's using me for my Jeep!

3pm we are headed to Moab in the Jeep and with mtn bikes...
Arrive in Moab around 9:30pm Thursday...
Friday we mtn bike part of poison spider mesa,, then jeep part of it....
Saturday we mtn bike the Amasa Back trail,, which is basically Cliff Hanger.
then flew thru part of Arches National Park.. hike to Delicate arch and around the window arches.... etc..
Sunday before heading home we hiked to Landscape Arch and Double O Arch....
What a great trip and one of my best yet.. Been to Moab 7 times now and this one ranks close to number one.. and I only spent about 3 hrs jeepin.

Great video!!! Thanks for sharing....

Man I bet you were puckered up pretty good on that ledge with snow and ice, and you were sliding sideways. It looked like at one point you even had a wheel or two of the ground, making that REAL exciting. (about 7:50 on the video)

All wheels on the ground. I had run this before and before we biked it and then I walked it right before I put the jeep on it.. I told Myself if I feel the jeep slipping to much I wouldn't continue. It actually held really good..
I don't normally do trails like this alone but since I was familiar with it I figured we would see how far we got..
we turned around at frame 4:40 were the snow on the north face started coming in to play way to much.. up until then it wasn't in areas that gave me concern... it was a great trip.
