Thanks. It's a Kodak DX7630 (6.1 MegaPixels) - as far as editing, I'll do some cropping, sometimes sharpen them a tad, and maybe play with contrast. Mostly just try to reduce them from about 3 Meg down to less than 200 Kb.

Here's an example of one I cropped - almost wish I had backed up just a few more inches for a greater "Jeep Suspended in Air" effect, but better to be safe and alive, than . . . well, the opposite.

Added a couple more pics that a friend took of the mud puddle incident.

Default Mountainside ORV Park

Went back a few weeks later to Mountainside, so figured I'd just post the pics here since they're very close in time frame. It was another great trip - was able to do some stuff that I wouldn't have dreamed about a few months ago.

Dang - pictures never seem to give the proper perspective. This was steep!!

These wildflowers were all over the place.

How to high-center a 2Dr Rubi - this takes real talent.

Darted up to the overlook again as the gate was open for some reason.

Is there enough rocks at this place to be worth driving 7 hours?

It's only about 500 acres, but they have a lot for everyone - especially if you like rocks, slabs, boulders, and very technical climbs. I feel very fortunate to be only about an hour and a half's drive from this park.

Maybe others will weigh in, but you'll have plenty to do over a couple of days. We can typically spend 6-7 hours there easy, and not cover large sections of the trails (especially the serious rock stuff). Don't know how to judge whether that will make it worth the drive.

If i can spend 6 or 7 hours there and not hit the same thing twice, it is well worth the drive. I wouldnt even mind doing the same thing on the second day. I just wanted to make sure it wasnt like a 30 min trail. Thanks for the info. This place is now on the list.

We usually go there several times a year. Keep watch in "The South" staging area, and maybe you can join us sometime. If you decide to go up on your own, post a note in the Huntsville thread (part of "The South" staging area), and if possible, I'll join you.
