Were both of the 4 doors able to complete the trail without a strap or winch? I wonder with the steps getting dugout if the 4-door wheelbase was a help or henderance.

There were 3 JK's with us. It was amazing what this Jeep can do. And I'm unaware of any of the JK's suffering any damage at all. We had a very good trail leader. He knew the trail and how to drive it.

Mowabb and I both had 4 lo probs on The Rock Pile (I think that's the name) as our jeeps kept popping out of gear as we crested the climb. We only needed to be pulled up that one time.

Another JK made it the entire way without needing a single tug as far as I know. He has been wheeling a LONG time, and it showed. No need for the Hemi or super huge tires for him. He had maybe a 3" lift and 34 or 35's(?) max. But he knew how to drive and read the trail, and follow his spotter.

THAT was impressive.

"Who was that masked man?"

It was the guy in the red JK in these pics,... Kudo's to him! Please identify him if at all possible so he can see himself in "action".

There is another thread with a red 4 door who also did Pritchett. He has video of his Moab runs. He had the same problem on the Rock Pile. He indicated the reason that the auto popped out of gear on the severe angle was due to the trans fluid moving to the back of the transmission.

Also, when I chatted with the gentlemen in the red JK he said he had 37s and a 4" lift. I did not notice if he had a manual or auto trans.

I just saw that vid and was going to pm you the link. I responded to it in that thread.

That red JK with us looked very nice, and I think bc it was so understated, it didn't look that big.

Do you know who it was?

He was an elderly gentlemen from Montana is all I got. He mentioned he just got a cell phone, so I doubt he is reading this.
