Default My Jeep's first road trip. Indianapolis, IN --> Ocean City, MD / Assateague Island

So it was time for my jeep to take her first road trip, I dropped the top, loaded up all the camping gear, setup the back seat for the pooch and hit the road. The total distance was 742 miles each way, and it took about 13 hours.

A few things I learned on the way out:
-Wear sunblock when you have the top down (see pics)
-Turn off OD when driving in mountains with 3.73/33" tires
-Dogs like to ride up front even if they have a nice nest in the back
-Turn off ESP when driving in soft sand in 4-hi (got the hot oil light for tranny temp the first day)
-KM2s do fine in the sand at 32PSI (my normal running pressure)

On with the pics!

Nice pics! Did you see the wild ponies? There's all kinds of wild life there. I've been going there every year for the last 26 years. I'll be down there this weekend for the week. It's 15 miles of beach to drive on. We love it there.

I love going to chincoteague. I havnt been able to get down there the last two years. Its a great quiet town thats mostly uncomercialized, nice to go and get away from everything. I always wished i had a jeep to go into the ORV area. Where did you guys stay while you were there?

My fiance's parents were "camping" at castaways rv-resort. They had some crazy huge trailer thing with 3 slide outs, we "roughed it" in a tent next to the camper.
