A good 13 miles into the wilderness, the volcanic rock top layer gets punched through down to a very thick mud layer.

How much cable do I have? I need almost 300 ft to reach the nearest upside juniper. With my Powerplant spooled out to just 2 turns of cable on the drum and all the tree savers and tow ropes...I have just enough.

2 1/2 feet of mud. Nastiest I've ever seen. So much of a hard uphill pull that I melted the entire negative front post on my red top Optima.
