Oro Grande Mines in Brice, NM
So my wife and I decided to break in the new camera we got for Christmas and made a run out to Brice, NM to check out the mines out there. Here's a few of the better shots:
On the way through Oro Grande
The cross that marks the old Brice town cemetery, which other than the slightly modern white cross only has a smaller wood cross and the remains of the old powder house left.
One of the many mines around.
Elephant mtn., which has a very elaborate military outpost residing next to and on top of...
The used to be military no trespassing sign, don't ask...
Me playing on a hill...
Looking into a very bizarre twin mine shaft.
A better picture of the two shafts.
This poor guy, saw him briefly on the trail and wound up stopping by him after we got back into Oro Grande, apparently he broke something (possibly trackbar from the clunking we were hearing) and was hobbling back to El Paso. Asked him if he needed any help and said he'd be just fine. Nice guy really...

Overall, we had an absolute blast!

Looks like a good day! All those random mine holes is a little scarry. But glad you all had fun and got home safe. Poor little yellow Jeep. Hopefully we can get the EP group together soon for a run!

I'm in as long as I'm not at work, which seems like every day, even though it's not. I think my dad and I are gonna go on wednesday, but guessing the majoirty of folks will be at work. If anyone wants to go, let me know. But I'm in on the run in progress.
