Last Dollar Road from just outside Ridgeway to Telluride is a really pretty drive. It is passable in 2WD as long as it is DRY. If it is raining or has rained recently, you'll need 4WD. Moderate ground clearance is required, meaning a subaru can do it, but a civic can not.

The only trail I've encountered in the whole area that cannot be easily driven in a stock Sport Wrangler is Poughkeepsie Gulch, which I drove in a stock 2dr Sahara. Nothing in this area requires a Rubicon, some trails require a brain, but most don't even require that. Just go slow and enjoy the views.....

The cabin in actually a ski in ski out at Durango mountain so trials n that area will be great.

Thanks

Stay away from Black Bear pass until your confidence has grown a bit.

?????

People over hype BB.

Don't get me wrong - I LOVE it.......but there is no reason a first time wheeler can't drive it.
