Some pics from the run. I had a great time, everybody, and it was nice to put some new names to faces. If anyone wants to do this run again in the near future I think my wife and son would really enjoy it. I'm inclined to make it a camp-out.

Hard to see in the pics but the cracks run out in different directions from the hole.


Thought about plugging the hole with JB Weld and refilling but after a closer inspection we noticed there was cracks in all directions from the hole. Our fear was it would all give and we'd have a bigger mess so....Mike (RUBI-JK) I one upped you at least you made it 50yrds into the trail head before breaking...I didn't even make it to the trail

 

What the hell broke on that Rubicon?

 

Transfer case

 

Ugh. Sucks.

Any idea why?

Repairable?

 

Hole and cracks in the transfer case...happened on the freeway with little warning as seems to be the trend. just over 19K miles on the Jeep. Currently at the dealer awaiting post mortem tomorrow.

 

This makes like the 5th one I have come across ont he forums here of the t-case blowing while on the HWY.

Did you notice any vibrations before hand?
