Project-JK Achy Breaky Run 01/31/10
It has been months since we last got a chance to wheel with our good friend fish and after getting word that he was finally gonna have Sunday off, we decided that it was time to clear the schedule and get a run going. And, even though we annoucned this run on Thrusday, we were still able to get as many as 13 JK's to come out to play. Best part of all, in addition to seeing some old friends again, we also got a chance to meet some new faces and make new friends. Anyway, here are some pics from our trip....
Meeting up at Bravo Burger....

Airing down and disconnecting at the trailhead....

Trail marker indicating one of the first obstacles on the trail...

Taking some time to scope out the Staircase- our first rock garden of the day....

Starting my ascent....

WestleyAndButtercup working their stock Rubi...

JeepItm8 getting in some good flex....

mituk getting a chance to test out some of the new suspension mods he's made...

serveapurpose taking a harder line to get some big flex....

Our next obstacle was the Ledge - here's fish taking on a harder line up the and over and with ease....

After a valient attempt by Off Road Lady in his stock Rubicon, HolyMolyRacing lends a hand by adding a couple of rocks to help out...

JeepItm8 got jammed up as well and got a chance to try out his new winch...

HolyMolyRacing just clearing the ledge after taking on the hardest line up....

TikiJK gives a parade float wave to the crowds as she makes her way up...

toad kicking up some dirt as she hops on up the ledge....

On our way to the next rock garden, the muffler on mm4x4's JK breaks its weld and starts dragging on the trail. Here we are pulling it off completely so that he doesn't have to drag it all the way home....

Trophy shot - mm4x4 holding up his carnage for all to see....

Lunch time on the trail...

The next rockgarden is a long ravine with some good boulders obstacles along the way. Here's lil' Nemo flexing it's way up...

WestleyAndButtercup slowing working their way up....

serveapurpose squeezing his way up inbetween some large boulders....

SilverRubicon taking the same obstacle but up a slightly different line....

toad pushing her articulation to the limit on this obstacle....

Finishing up the ravine and making our way up to the ridge....
Stop on top the ridge to take in the view....

fish followed by mm4x4 and JeepIm8 as they crawl their way up the last rockgarden for the day....

Heading back out to pavement....

Strainger washing off before heading back home....

Airing up after a fun filled day....

The kids getting into the off roading spirit and helping out....

After leaving the trail, we decided to head down to Apple Valley to have some dinner at one of our favorite Italian Restaurants, Mama Carpinos. Along the way, we came across some water filled dry lakes and they were stunning to see at sunset....

As you can imagine, I had to pick and choose what pics to post here and there are a ton more that we took. If you'd like to see them now, all you have to do is click on the link below:

Thanks for sharing and those Dry Lake beds looked pretty remarkable at Sunset, just wished we could have been there.
