Grant, Sam and English Steve were telling us about the mudhole around the fire on Whipsaw this year back in July. Was pretty funny to see the mess in that video!

Why after each time I watch one of these I feel compelled to throw a for sale sign on the front lawn and move to CA ???

Just wondering if there are Rubicon-ish runs up in western Canada. I figure there must be some amazing places to go. When this video was posted, my first thought was that Wayalife and crew must have gone up north for a run. Just wondering and suggesting....would be great to see.

I haven't found anything like like the Rubicon up here yet, but it's only my first summer with my jeep. I have done a trail called Whipsaw, which can take 2 days if you don't rush it. Mostly easy but has some fun obsticles. You can find pics and video in the Western Canada section or in the trails and tales section, just search for Whipsaw.
Earlier this summer I was on another 2 day run and ran into some guys that came through and area called China Head, which comes out close to Goldbridge. I think they said they were on their 3rd day on the trail. I'm gonna try and do that one next summer.
There are lots of day trip trails around bc that are real rocky, but I've only managed to do a couple of them so far.

Whipsaw is a nice day doodle round trip to Princeton. Get up, have breaky at one of the places in town, doodle the trail and then back to town in the late afternoon for dinner. Not a particularly challenging trail, a stock JKU Sahara does it with little issue.

China Head is a particularly scenic run. Again, not particularly challenging, most vehicles with 4lo have no issue. 3 days on China Head is stretching it. Depends on where one starts though. It has a couple deceiving turns, but otherwise pretty straight forward to do with a decent map book.

Just north of the China Head is Windy Ridge. Longer trail, quite scenic. A bit more challenging. It has its tight spots and the one climb/decent depending on direction. Some washouts etc. Its one of those trails you go on with someone who has gone before. Make one wrong turn and you will likely run out of gas before you get out.

Alexander Mackenzie Trail is supposed to be fun. Quite the slog though as I understand its quite muddy (Quesnel to Anahim Lake)

No one shares directions to these long through trails, got to know someone and join them...

Nothing that Wayalife's group would find challenging?

But its only a few short sections. The bigger challenge would be carrying enough fuel for the drive (Windy and China head are 200-250km between gas stations almost all dirt). Or paying for the fuel. $1.40ish per litre or $5.30/gallon.

Not much for rock crawling. Its in the trees mostly. Geography and settlement history is a bit different here, even so its just up the coast effectively. Thus none of these old wagon roads. Our "wagon road" got upgraded and is now the main highway. Besides, damn trees grow back fast after someone cuts in a road/trail unless its driven often!

Lots of stuff to do, but more on the mild side. There is buggy stuff around too. If you are into that.

I have fun with what we got, but have Jeep will travel. Tillamook was fun last year. Headed to Rubicon next year.
Sounds like God's country. You must love being in that area. I'll search for pics and vids so I can live through all of you. Thanks!

Our licence plates have two slogans

"Beautiful British Columbia"

and

"Best Place on Earth"

Depending on which one you get.
