Default Rampart Range, CO

Weather was to nice to stay inside so I went up on the foothills to rampart, it was the only place I knew safe enough to go up alone no hardcore wheeling just a cool road to go up and take a few photos










Next two pics out in the distance you can see the damage from the wildfire back in 02 that took out 15,800 acres

Man that makes me a bit homesick, I used to go out there a lot. I remember going out one night with a buddy when it was all snow covered and slid down a hill... took a few days to get his truck out.

Perfect place for a picnic or camp but theres a lot of quads and dirtbikes up there so get ready for some noise other than that awsome place to drive up

Pretty easy - start at garden of the gods and the road will take you all the way to denver. lots off offshoots as well - mostly scenic driving, but cool none the less.

I've actually been to those exact places, how did you get up there? Did you start at rampart back in manitou springs, go up mount herman, or use mount dakan to get to rampart?

Def cool drive if your solo I took 105 to jackson creek and it takes you straight up

And thats why I went I hate to go up on some rought trails and brake alone rampart had tons of folks coming up and down so I felt pretty good about that one
