Great pics!!

We went there with our kids years ago when Ryan was 6, he was blown away by the hoodoos. That's how cool that place is.
need to go there again.

I love that area. I'm planning a family reunion there next summer. This is my way of weeding out the un-cool family members. You know: the one’s with out a jeep.

I am heading out on Saturday. Gonna spend about 3 days there before continuing on to Yellowstone and eventually Canada. How did you find out about any dirt roads or trails in the area?

Airman, a few months ago there was a 4x4 show at Pomona and there was a booth for Bryce Canyon! So I got some pretty good maps there. There's a few good websites too just by searching Bryce Jeep trails.

The trails i went on were: Paunsagunt area ATV trails, Hell's backbone, and part of Cottonwood / Grosvenor Arch. There's another one off the Cottonwood trial but i can't remember the name of it. Mostly they were dirt roads, but Cottonwood and this other one, sounds kinda like 'inkatuba' or something, had some interest in terms of creek crossings, steepness etc. None of them had any rock crawling opportunites that I saw. I'm stock and with the family, that was okay with me. So it's much more of a scenic ride than a technical one.

I could bring maps on Friday to Irvine if you want. Could hook up at lunch or something. Let me know.

Jim

Thanks for the offer. I wish I could pick those maps up off you, but because someone turned on the heat here right before I head out for 2 weeks, I am slammed at work.

I did find info on the trails you mentioned though. Thanks so much for the help.

You ever been up on Main Divide Rd? Its in your own backyard (Cleveland National Forest) and it offers great views of the area. I did it just last Sunday. PM me if you want directions.

Good luck up there. Have been to Saddleback twice now. Once it was socked in at the top so couldn't see a thing. Next time there was a lady bug infestation. Seriously! Lady bugs in general don't bother me, but 3 million of anything is a bit of a nuisance. We barely got out of the Jeep! Need to go again on a clear day. I usually go up ortega highway and turn left near the ranger station, then exit at Santiago canyon.
