Default Roscommon and Houghton Lake Area

I went up to my dads cabin on Higgins Lake this weekend with intentions of finding some ORV trails.
I stopped and bought a book that has several trail all around Michigan and sure enough, I found some within about 20 minutes of where I was staying.
I decided I would go check out a trail just outside of roscommon.

At first I couldnt find the trail so I just followed this random path that eventually lead me the right way. Things started out a little on the tight side.
Once I was on the right path.. it turned out to be awesome.

(I appologize for the cellphone pictures.. I was by myself with out a camera.. for the first trip anyways)

This was the scenery once I found myself on the beaten path.

Just Cruising Along admiring myself haha

The ORV Posts (there are a million.. apparently they dont want you to get lost)

I Ran into this Small mud/water hole

Ok.. so that was about the end of the first day.. I hustled back for dinner.
As soon as I got back I ran out on the dock to take a picture of the sky.
I think there had to be atlease 40-50mph winds and then nasty rain for about 10 minutes lol.

The next day.. I started out on the Lake.
This is Detroit Point it divides The lake .. North and South
We did a little fishing here but had no luck.

My sister and I Left at about 6 and I decided wether she like it or not we were going to check out another trail Just south of Houghton Lake.
It was right on our way home so what the heck.
This trail .. Like the other one started off very small.

Apparently a few years ago there was a bad forest fire and now the forest has been turned into an ORV trail. It's pretty cool. Heres some of what was a forest.

Here are some Trees that had to be cut.

We ran along the road for a while.

Haha. I guess its a jeep thing.

Stopped to try and make sence of a vandalized map.. trail just goes on

Found a little mud hole

Decided once wasnt enough

Rolled across a bridge and snapped this shot

Here we ran into a problem.. ROAD BLOCK

What the heck lets go off road .. We drove around the trees that were probably knocked down because of the wind the night before...
We came up just on the otherside of the road block..

Rolled through this mud hole and it was much deeper than anticipated.

Eventually we came out onto the road we started on and decided that we had better get home.

It was an Awesome Time.!! I think we saw 3 deer and 2 turkeys.. There were also a ton of ducks.. A TON.
