Default Rubicon Trail Run 08.01.11 - Part Two - Little Sluice to Lake Tahoe

After Vince finished Little Sluice, we continued on our day trip through the Rubicon Trail.

A few more photos of Little Sluice before we move on:

A very cool tree:

Another broken and abandoned rig:

Just posing around:

Still a lot of deep water:

Ledge climbing:

Sorry, I just like photos of my Jeep next to ponds:

Checking out Buck Island Lake:

Stupid Jeep wouldn't make it over this little rock. Good thing Vince has been working out!:

More rocks:

Buck Island is a beautiful lake:

Starting down new sluice:

Ummm, I'm not really sure how you are going to fit through here...

Halfway down the new sluice hill, this rock took out Vince's brake line and steering. Thankfully, he was able to get the Jeep into the hillside to stop it:

This is a very good reason to always carry vice-grips and plenty of duck tape:

Hitting Rubicon Springs with plenty of daylight left:

Starting up Cadillac Hill:

Yet another broken rig:

Poser rock shots:

Staging area:

Lake Tahoe and a hot shower before sunset:

The next morning, getting started fixing all the carnage, before the long ride home:

About 12.5 hours, but that included the time running Little Sluice, lunch breaks, etc.
