Default Seaching for the Big Rock Candy Mountains...

A search for secert fishing hole lead to more exploring around the Gila River in Arizona. My son and I always say we are searching for the Big Rock Candy Mountains.
"One eveing as the sun went down and the jungle fire was burning.
Down the track came a hobo hiking and he said boys I not turning.
I headed for a land thats far away beside the crystal fountain.
So come with me we'll go and see the Big Rock Candy Mountians.
In the Big Rock Candy Mountains theres a land thats fair and bright
Where the hand outs grow on bushes and you sleep out everynight"

So heres our latest attemp to find these fabled Mountains.....

Heading out.

A beaver lived in this tree. Neat to see all the downed tree in the area and the start of a new beaver dam.

Ya know, there actually is a mountain named The Big Rock Candy Mountain, it's in Utah. On highway 89, Just North of Marysville.

Sweet so they do exist. We knew.

Are the box cars all empty and the barns full of hay?

My kid loves that song so much he committed the WHOLE thing to memory and sang it to us here. Much to the surprise of our small merry band.

Do you know how long it took me to realize that there was a fish in her hand???
Great pics though and I think you finally sold me on the Red Rock color. my wife has been a fan of it for awhile, but these pics I think sealed the deal. If you have more please post them up.
