Spring day on the farm
I suppose I'm somewhat fortunate that my family owns a rather sizeable amount of land that I have access to anytime I wish. Its not exactly a 4wd heaven, seeing as it is mostly farm land mixed with some woods and an abandoned railroad track (we bought back, at great cost) that splits the property. There is a large hill with about 100 acres of land and some logging roads too, but I didn't go that direction today. Nonetheless, I thought I'd rub it in to all of you have no place to wheel, when I simply drive through the back yard and I'm at least able to do something. That being said, here are some poser shots I took today since it was nice outside and damnit, I still had fun being a goofball.
First, some flexing on a cherry log to get things warmed up. I have a 2" Full Traction BB, but I'm thinking I'm gonna need a TF 2.5 soon since my stock shocks pretty much maxed out on this wimpy log. Lockers...Engage!

After that, continue down the trail for a treacherous stream crossing, as you can see the waters run fast and deep. Gonna be tough, better go 4 high to keep some speed.

Whew, made it across. Back in the day, before it washed out, you could drive a Farmall through the tunnel on the right.

Now, time to drive back up the raging river of doom, complete with water 12" deep. I didn't take any more pics, but I made it and my tires were damn clean when I finished.

Time for another major obstacle. Loose gravel, laid by horses and manual labor about 80 years ago.

Looking good cresting the friggin' mountain here. Almost looks like a normal "trails and tales" shot.
Swaybar still disengaged, which no doubt aided my line choice across the gravel pile obstable I now carefully navigated.

Time to head home. Every bit of land in view, except the distant hills, is ours. Well, my family's, Which I'll probably inherit someday anyway, seeing as it is in a trust.

Dude! What were you thinking? Going out there all alone and I still don't see how you made through that river or up the side of that mountain without winching!
