Teraflex Sponsered San Rafael Swell Trail Run
Had an awesome day wheeling with everyone that showed up for the Teraflex sponsered trail run today. A bunch of people actually went out the previous night to camp out which would have been more fun and alot less driving for me but I couldn't get my wife to tent camp out in the rain, (since it was supposed to rain most of the weekend) So myself & 2 other JK'ers who couldn't travel down with the rest of the group the day before & camp out for whatever reason met up at the Teraflex Plus shop at 5:30 this morning to travel the 2 and a half to 3 hours to meet up with everyone else at 9am for a funfilled day of jeeping. (It takes about that long to travel from Salt Lake to the San Rafael area. Beautiful scenery, not to hard of a trail, (at least for the first half of the day) The wife and myself had to take off just after we got done with the first half. But about 11 or 12 jeepers were in the group and we had a great day. Anyway to make a long story short while we were wheeling it had been a very cloudy day and we could see the very dark clouds on the horizon slowely moving towards us. After a few hours the storm finally caught up with us, as we were driving through a ravine. A very low point with cliffs on either side of us which I knew wasn't a very safe or smart place to be in during a thunderstorm although we were already past the half way through point before the actual storm came over us which is about the time my wife started freaking out & about ready to get panick attacks cause it was raining hard & we were in a vulnerable area for a thunderstorm & she kept saying "we better not get caught in a flash flood" & blah blah blah. Anyway as I was trying to calm her down we get around a bend & all of a sudden a bunch of water starts pouring down from the cliff tops into the very ravine were driving through which makes her freak out even more (it was kind of like watching the makings of a flash flood & thinking "oh gawd, this isn't cool) all the while we're hearing people on the CB's talking & saying let's hurry the f*ck up a little and get outta here. I was able to snap one picture during the waterfall moments & the picture doesn't do it justice, water coming down on us from the cliffs from both the right and left sides and it was kind of intense. Anyway we obviously finally made it out of that area to safety & I'm still alive since I'm writing this right now safely from my couch. I may or may not be aggagerating a little bit but there were a few moments that I was thining to myself. "oh sh*t" Anyway it just made the day that much more exciting. We also saw some cool petroglyphs, a dinosaur footprint and got to hang out with a bunch of cool people and there cool jeeps. Like I said there were about 10 other jeepers besides myself and I know at least half of 'em are on this forum so maybe they can chime in and/or post there own pictures. I'd love to see some pictures & hear stories from the last half of the day if anyones got em post em and add em here.
by the way, please forgive me for any grammer ro spelling errors as I have been drinking ever since I got home (a few hours ago) to celebrate that I didn't die jeeping today.

great pics SLCJK al mine sucked. to much dust on the lens and by the time it was raining it was pointless. needed something to clean it with.

the part that freaked me out the most is when I was crossing the dry river bed and half way through it I saw the one ft wide stream of water pass me. Not knowing how much more was coming. Hurry the F up yellow TJ.
it was a different kind of rush that was for sure. glad we all made it out.

i was nice listening to the NOAA radio at the start and flash flood warnings low all weekend. then in the middle of the run I turned it on. Flash Flood warnings for the San rafael swell. OH SHT!!

Weather was a little shitty on Saturday night but we had a blast!
I didn't get very many cool shots but here is what I have...
Here is that dinosaur footprint..

The canyon where we were camping....

Myself, Xbroncoman, bonedigger and his brother went and ran Devil's Racetrack after most of the group split after lunch....we didn't get back to camp until 10:00 PM....bitchen trail!

And water was pouring in from everywhere before lunch...

Good times...
