Just found this thread. Thanks for the pictures.

This trip changed my mind on Wharton, and it's in my "backyard"... sort of... it's not just deep gooey thick smelly mud with living things crawling inside... my son actually likes the water crossings... he throws pine cones as we go through them.

I once saw a lady in a big old sedan with a pizza delivery sign zooming by us on one of the sand roads (put us to shame)... probably she knows the local shortcuts (and where the puddles to stay away from).

haha thats great, how old is your son? hey I have NEVER seen anything living in any of the water in wharton If he wants he can jump in my jeep for one of my signature runs thru the big deep puddles but I think window should be closed keep all hands and legs inside the ride

oh and that lady was delivering us a pizza we ordered while on a ride

someone saw and help recover a small school bus that was back in the woods there

They use that small school bus to haul kayakers out to Quaker Bridge and Hawking Bridge.

First time I saw it was when I first took my Jeep out into the woods. I'm traveling down a sandy road thinking I'm all bad ass in my Jeep and this bus comes up behind me and I have to get out of his way 'cause I'm going to slow.

What a reality check.

Looks like I'll be out there on Monday. Bunch of crap came up for me on Sunday so I can't go then.
