Default Torrey mountain road 6/29/08

Well finally made it out to an official trail ride with my jeep club yesterday. The trail was awesome to say the least, and a lot more challenging than I expected, but the jeep walked away with no more than some new pin striping, and another dent on a bumper thats being replaced anyways. For the most part, the trail was fun, but the first obstacle was a bitch for me. fortunately i wasnt the only one having probs there, and other people tended to have more probs than i did else where,s o I didnt feel so bad. Some reason alot of pics my friend took didnt come out clear, or were way to dark, so heres what i do have.

Entering the trail with (name escapes me) following right behind..

the first and the real bitch obstacle...

Me making my first attempt on it and failing...

Me after building make shift ramps and getting extremely dirty trying to make it easier...

After a million tries, success..

after feeling like a n00b and holding up the line on the first obstacle, and dreading what was to come, it takes another victim..

after a few tries I got to break in my strap and tow hook to help him up. I then didnt feel so bad.

Gunner(?) comming up the trap

Jason(?) comming up the rock (sorry bad with names at first)

little further up was this sweetheart.. My jeep made all sorts of interesting metal on rock sounds here..

As i almost fishtail off the rocks finally getting up it..

Jason doing some flexing

This was prob the highlight for me...

go go go

damn got hung up..

But got a lil help

end of trail results..

Missing in pics was the 5 mile lone train tunnel, the 100 foot 25 degree rock face, big mug hole, and a few other interesting parts to say the least. will add more photos when the rest of my jeep club posts more I can get my hands on... Over all my jeep did ALOT more than i thought it could do( without breaking something) now am looking into a lift and disco's... lol

You'll see an amazing improvement simply with the quick disconnects. It will amaze you being able to keep all 4 wheels on the ground how much easier most obstacles are. Great pics keep wheelin'

Great pics! Looks like fun

Your signature says you have a D30 but under the "Mods" it says Dana 44 front axle?

Did you do the swap, if so, how did that go?

When I got in the bad accident back in august, i took the jeep to a friends autobody shop. when he wrote up the estimate, he put in for a replacement front axel, and got me the d44 nstead of the d30. everything from the frame and forward of the windshield was replaced (except the motor)
