Greetings one and all,

The wife and I are going on a cross country trip in about 18 months.

I hope to buy a tent trailer to pull for this and other trips between now and then.

Looking for the groups advice on what moods I can do to my stock Sahara for some extra pulling power. (NO V-8 or RIPP mods) 2010 4dr auto 3:73,stock tires, tow package. Yes it's my daily driver Mall crawler.

Trying to stay under 2800#"s total weight on trailer.

Although I guess those are 'keep ya goin' and 'keep ya stoppin' abilities but nonetheless important.

 

I would second the transmission cooler recommendation. I just returned from a 950-mile round trip pulling a trailer. The V6 likes to downshift on the hills so be prepared for that. Use the 'OverDrive off' button to give the rig a bit of help. It shouldn't need many mods unless you get really heavy on the tongue weight.

Today I just added a trans cooler. Next week going to add Magnaflow exhaust.
