Went to Big Rock today. Not bad. really dry because of the weather. The jeep trail is a nice way to get new jeepers into the hobby. Then from there you can branch off int other, more involved areas
How long would you estimate the jeep trail is?

If you mean Big Rock it went well. The park was obviously ATV centric as a lot of the trails were a bit narrow for a JK. They have been hard at work widening the rest of them and you can tell. Mike led us around and down through Sleepy Hollow which was a nice ride at this time of year due to the leaves changing etc. Granted, I have no idea how he found it since the park markings and maps are a bit of a challenge to follow.

After a few turn arounds trying to find the second overlook of Maysville, the group made the mistake of letting me lead. Trying to tie the trails we had been on together we ended up going down a couple of ATV hills marked with Yellow and Black bar signs (we assumed meant caution or challenging), and then a dead end and back up a hill that was marked the same way. (Makes you wonder why those hills are only marked at the top?)

It was a good exploration run and for some of the people who had never had their JK off road I'm sure it was an experience. If it hadn't been as dry as it was some of the things we did would have been much more difficult. I have video of everyone coming down the first ATV hill that I'll join together and put on youtube here shortly. (Well, except Chad. I ran out of memory before he got to the bottom)

I'm all for some local riding. Our JK is not lifted yet so I don't know how far I could get. Or even a meet up at a local BW's sounds fun.

Feel you guys pain. I used to drive to Erlanger back in the day and Hidden Valley in Indiana. Once got my CJ stuck so bad out in Tri-County where they built the "new" Vineyard church in the 90's it took a bobcat to dig me out. A lot different out here in PHX.
