Default Twin Cone Trail Colorado June 28th

Here are some pics from Twin Cone trail. Had lots of fun, did scrape the bottom but was impressed with the JKs crawlability.
Driving through South Park:

Switchbacks in forest:

Above the big hill with South Twin Cone in background:

Approaching tree line:

North Twin Cone summit 12,300 feet.

Right on! It wasn't blocked by snow. I saw your post - nice. Too bad we didn't meet up. I was amazed at the amount of JKs I saw driving on 285.

Let me know if they're still not visible. I see them, but that's on the laptop I used to post them. I did move them to a dedicated album in Photobucket which may have broken the link.

By the way, the panorama showing the Jeeps is looking directly toward the west where Husker Shoe was (see his great posting on Georgia Pass). You can see Georgia Pass and Glacier Ridge (?) pretty much directly over the Jeeps. Red Cone is just to the right of the Jeeps and looks like a cone. Breckenridge is just over the mountains behind Georgia Pass.

The flat area is the north end of South Park where the original mountain men and Ute indians would winter. There are tons of beaver ponds in this area.

The JK did pretty darn well - even with 3.73s. I felt the 2.5" RC BB was enough lift. The problem was that the super plush stock springs and shocks let the Jeep bounce too much over the rocks which caused me to slap the skids a couple times. I think stiffer springs and shocks would make a huge difference.

I love Colorado pics. We seem to find our way back almost every Fall. There is so much to see and endless trails. Thanks for sharing your pics.
