Default Went wheelin with some JKs today

Went for a nice ride today with several JKs. I'll keep the Commander pics to a minimum.

My buddy's JK, he organized the ride. He's the original owner of the tires and rims on my Commander.

We did find some challenging areas.

They got some suspension flex

I was able to keep up

Happiness is Rubicons in your rear mirror

The final bonus? 2 weeks from today the baby is due. So I guess this counts as her first off-road trip.

I think that is the first time I have seen a Commander in the dirt. How did it do?

I put a 2" lift and JK tires and rims on it. I have the QDII and the Hemi. So far, it outperforms anything I have tried. I can't get close to the limits. I wimped out of one hill today, but that was because of the pregnant passenger.

If jeep had sold these with the bigger tires and better suspension, they would be all over the place. They're only 4 inches longer than a Grand Cherokee, although they look much larger.

My wife drives a commander with a 2.5" lift and rubi tires. I had to cut her wheel well up a little to stop the rubbing with turns. Did you need to mod the wheel wells at all?

BTW, Looks great.

Yes, I had to trim up the wheel well.

That's not enough trimming yet, either. I have to go bigger. The only worry is on the passenger side - coolant lines run behind the plastic.
