Wharton State Forest dates and times???
We must adhere to the letter of the law with a group this big. Here's a statement from Whartons website
New Jersey state law states that off-road vehicles such as quads and dirt bikes are prohibited on state land. Motorized recreation in Wharton State Forest is allowed with special conditions. A vehicle that is properly licensed and insured for on-road use in the State of New Jersey is permitted within the bounds of Wharton State Forest. This includes cars, SUVs, pickup trucks, Jeeps, and dual-sport motorcycles. All vehicles must stick to “designated roads” – the definition of which can be up to the ranger’s discretion, although a safe bet that you’re allowed on any road or trail that is marked on a street or topographic map. Topographic maps are available for sale at the Batsto and Atsion ranger stations or*available online. The rangers have no tolerance for people leaving roads, making new trails, or disturbing or destroying wildlife in bogs or wet areas. Be wary of parking alongside a road – the hot exhaust system of a vehicle may ignite the tall, dry grasses that sometimes line the dirt roads.

I was recently informed that we may be hassled due to ppl on other forums calling the rangers on us. Our group is too large, I called the Ranger Station today. They want us to keep the groups 10 and under.... As of now we have around 40 jeeps signed up (I know list says 20 but there's +5 up there, +5 more from wayalife.com, +6 more from a Wharton thread I forgot about) for this event and I don't want anyone to get a ticket while we're back there and then I look like the forum asshole that got everyone ticketed.... So I'm purposing that we break this run up into 3 or 4 separate runs of ten jeeps. I know some of u may have taken off work for the 23rd and those ppl who took off work will be the first group going on the 23rd..... Please post your responses to this so I know what u all want to do about this....
Once you have all chimed in on the thread ill start a new thread with the split date information for ppl to pick which run u wanna do and again the ppl who took off work for the 23rd automatically get a slot on the 23rd....
I'm really sorry for this HUGE inconvenience.... I originally thought only like 6 ppl would wanna go on this run not 40, I figured it's state land and our taxes pay for it so they can't tell us no if we're all legal, but apparently they can tell us no because it "may hinder the enjoyment of the environment for others" i dont want anybody getting in trouble and being ticketed
