Wheeling in Northern MN and not turning orange.
For those of you that have ever been to the Off-Road park in Gilbert Minnesota you know what I mean about turning orange. The park in Gilbert is only the beginning of the wheeling opportunities that Northern MN has to offer. The master plan has always been to expand the park across the highway into the Virginia Expansion. Well we were out today for National Trails Day and we put some of the first trails on the ground. Most of what we cut looks like this:

These are what will eventually be the core roads. But we were able to open up this area. It is a 3/4 mile long Glacial River.

This expansion to the park has never been mined. It is about 95% natural rock like this. This is just the beginning. There are some incredible ledges, more old river beds, dried up waterfalls and much more to be explored in this park. The park contains about 1500+ acres of usable land, about 3x what the existing park in Gilbert has.
I just thought I would give you all a little preview of things to come in Minnesota. Within a year there will be several miles of trails on the ground in the Virginia Expansion, which along with the existing park in Gilbert and the newly opened Mesabi Mountain Trail we are hoping that this area will become a premier wheeling destination.
