Default Where to wheel in North Carolina?

I just bought a 2010 jk and I am dying to find places to run it off road. I live in Chapel Hill but willing to drive some. Currently running a 6 speed manual with 35' tires and stock gears...4.88s on the way with front and rear air lockers.

I am a newbie so any advice is appreciated

Let me know if you find a place. I've been looking for the same thing.

Check out Fort Fisher State Park (south of Carolina Beach). I think a yearly pass is about $40.
You can also drive on north end of Carolina Beach, don't know what the fee is.

And there is a 4x4/ATV park in Calabash (Ash county, NC..on the border of SC, not far from Myrtle Beach) called CarolinaBackWoods. You can google it for more info.

Have fun and don't forget to AIR DOWN before going on the beach.

Thanks for the beach tips. I am really looking forward to the sand. I grew up driving a land rover on the sand in Cape Cod so I am very familiar with what happens when you don't air down. I used to watch people bury themselves. I was about 11 so of course they were not taking the advice of a kid to let the air out. I got to see one rocket scientist drive is brand new full size Bronco onto the sand bar and proceed to dig in. We tried to tel him but we were just "punk kids" and were told to butt out. So he dug and spun and dug and spun some more...then decided he needed help and went to call for help. Well tthat took about 30 minutes to get to a phone and maybe an hour to get a truck. And during that time, we punk kids watched the tide start to roll in. Boy the time the tow arrived, they could reach him without risking the tow...so one brand new Bronco got buried. They had to pull him out the next morning. Of course we were there for the unrequited...very mean...punk kid...."told you so"
