275/60x20?
Hello, new to the forum. I am picking up our first jeep this evening and have been searching different forums for the past 4 days trying to read up on Wheel and tire sizes. However, I have not found much on the the 275/60x20 size. To give some background, this will be a daily driver by my wife and do not plan to take off road unless we do some light gravel type trails. I am not interested in a lift, but may level the front to get rid of the rake and help clear tires.
From everything I have read I should be fin with 33" tires as long as backspacing is correct. Seems like 4.5" is the most recommended backspacing. Most everything I have read on 33" tires everyone is going with a wider option (285,295,305, 33x12.5, etc). The 275/60x20 tires I am looking at say a max wheel width of 9.5 inch. With the wheels I am looking at the 20x9 wheel only comes in a 1mm offset, which equates to a 5" backspacing.
So I guess I have a few questions:
1) Will the 5" backspacing be ok with that size wheel and tires.
2) Should I go with a wider tires? I have the same 275/60x20 tires on my truck and I feel like they would be fine with what we need, but I dont want to spend 3k on wheels and tires and wish I would've went wider. If anyone has pics of that size, that would be awesome. Based on tiresize.com this tire combination should set 1.29" further away from suspension and 2.09" further out of fender well.
3) Seems like a lot of people don't highly recommend a 20" wheel on a jeep, I'm fine with staying with a 18, but cost is the same bc the 18" tires are more expensive (275/70x18).
Any input would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for another wheel and tire post, but I definitely researched for days and, although I found alot of info, nothing exactly related to that size tires.

I think you'll find that 17x9 is the most common wheel size we JK owners use. That should be a little easier on cost of tires too. 4.5" BS will also be the most common as it will accommodate a 35" tire. Even though you're wanting 33's and can get by with 5.5" BS for up to 12.5" wide tire, I'd stick with a 4.5" BS just so you have the option in the future should you want to go up a size. Just my opinion though.
