Ok thanks so that pretty much sums up what i was going after. I guess i can kiss all the procomp rims in 17 inch goodbye then because all of them are 4.75. Looks like i will be going with the mickey thompson classic III in black. Anyone running these ?

Edit: I guess im finding a more selection of rims in 17x8 compared to a 19x9. Any major difference when running a 12.50 wide tire? I read in one of the stickies a tire when aired down will be better on a 8inch wide rim compared to a 9inch.

When my father was in the Air Force, military personnel were allowed to keep their vehicles registered in their state of permanent residence, meaning you'd only have to comply with that state's laws. If your home state is Jeep-friendly in its regulations, that might help.

If you are set on Procomps with 4.75 just get some spacers. I currently have 18" pro comps with BS of 4.75 I grabbed some 1.5 spacers just to get it out a little farther. I have run spacers on both my Jeeps and never had an issue.

Yeah i thought the same thing too until i was pulled over in my 17inch Lifted F150 and recieved 8 ticket violations. Only one i was about to get out of was the window tint. I was told this by a JAG officer who opened the regulation right in front of me. So yes we will have to abide by all states vehicle laws regardless of what our plates say. My FL plates allowed me to run bumpers higher than 36 inches but nevada state laws wont. Stupid i know.

Yeah im trying to stay away from spacers at the moment. I know most say they are safe but not something i want on my rig at this time. Not really wanting to take shortcuts in order to achieve what i want right now.

Unreal! I wonder when (or if) that changed. Seems ridiculous to subject service personnel and their families to wildly shifting regs every three or four years.
