Default Teraflex Nomad Wheel

I’m looking to replace my wheels that have survived the past 8 years and have a lot of road rash. I narrowed the down my top picks to the Teraflex Deluxe Nomad wheel and KMC KM540 Recon Wheel. I’m leaning more towards the Nomad but wanted to see if anyone is running these wheels and had anything positive or negative to say. I know neither is a beadlock wheel, trying to keep the weight down as I’m also stepping up my 35 Coopers to the 37x12.50x17 Cooper STT Pros.

If you've scrapped the current wheels up a good bit, is it going to aggravate you to spend a good chunk of money on new wheels and then scrape them up as well?

At one point I was in a similar situation of having had nice Fuel wheels that I scraped the crap out of. I ran 37s with adapters on those wheels for a bit till I got worn down and finally moved to a 3.5" BS wheel to accommodate a 37 properly. Unfortunately, selection for 3.5" BS wheels typically leads to beadlocks. They don't all have to be heavy wheels though. Method 105s are a tried and true wheel and they only weigh 35.4 lbs which is less than those Nomads at 37 lbs (per quick web search). I think I salvaged $125 selling my old Fuel wheels, so those were dang $1250 or so thrown in the trash. Scrape up a beaklock and you simply touch up the ring.....and if you ever go to sell that beadlock it's going to hold a lot of value. Food for thought at least.

Good point on road rash however my current rims have given me plenty of life. I’m trying to get better confirmation but someone weighed these rims and said they were 30 pounds and that the website or other comments that it was a 37 was wrong. If I can work out a decent price I’ll probably get them. I play a little on the rocks so not worried about scuffing just ready fir a change and these looked to be a good fit for me.
