Default $5 plate relocation

so i plan to do the ORO light relocation once my spare carrier issues are figured out. until then i needed something to hold me over, as i already had the license plate delete plug delivered. now all i needed was a way to mount the tag. i looked all over for a magnetic dealer tag holder, but to no avail. so i just made my own, home depot had a pretty large selection of magnets for around $2.00 i picked one that would sufficiently hold the tag, and picked up some two part epoxy for $3.00 to mount the magnets to my tag trim. after letting the epoxy cure for the recommended 20 minutes i lined it up and "thunk" it attached itself. for now it will work just fine until i get my high dollar kit. plus, if your worried about ripping your stock holder off on the trail you could make one of these for $5.00 and throw it in your jeep just in case, and you can mount it literally anywhere being that its magnetic.

as soon as i can find some super short black hardware, the zip ties will be gone.

its tough to tell in the photo but the magnets came in a two pack, each was about 1" X 2" i put them behind the "5" and the "D" on each side of the vent hole.

all said and done i have $19 into the tag relocation
plug $10
tag trim $4
magnets $2
epoxy $3

i just found some real nice aircraft grade stainless hardware at work to replace the zip ties. was doing about 75 on the way up here and the plate hasnt moved at all.

if your state requires tag illumination you could always use these as well.

You might want to change the straps regularly cause they wont hold up to the uv rays/sunlight. They will harden and crack...then you will be expaining to the officer why you have no idea that your plate was gone. I did that to my XJ and luckly i caught it when it was hanging by 1 strap.

Its a nice spot but you need to change to metal srtaps.

Where did you get that receiver tow hook? I've seen lots with D-ring shackles, but that looks really heavy duty...almost mil-spec.

Ok this may be a dumb question. How do you change a flat tire with no spare on board? Or is it somewhere I can't see?
