Default 30,000 mile service write-up

I did a quick searce and came up with nothing. the local stealership wants almost $700.00 to do it. I figured if I can rebuild a Rotory engine, install it and have it run correctly, I should be able to do this. has anyone done this and/or has a write up I missed? I'd be more than willing to do a detailed write up if anyone has any tips on the various parts of the service. The service is just: oil and filter change, air filter(k&n don;t worry about it), transmition fluid, front and rear diffs, coolent change, and spark plugs. right? did I miss something? Thanks in advance.

according to the 30,000 mile service in the 07 manual:

Change the engine oil and engine oil filter, if not
replaced at 3 months.
Rotate the tires.
Inspect the engine air filter element, replace if
necessary.
Inspect the PCV Valve, and replace if necessary.
Inspect the brake linings.
Drain and refill the front and rear axle fluid.
Inspect the manual transmission fluid, add as necessary.
Inspect the transfer case fluid, add if necessary.
Clean and lubricate soft top zippers (if equipped).

you can change the oil, it's easy!

check your tires, if you have more tread in the rear than the fronts, you do not need rotating.

inspect your air filter and replace if it's dirty. STP makes one (autozone) or you can go to the dealer if necessary.

inspect PCV valve and brake linings, they SHOULD be okay.

drain and refill axle fluid, you can learn how here:

transfer-case service:

lube up the soft top zippers!!

as for the others:
your coolant should be okay until you reach the 60,000 mile mark. it's always a good idea to inspect the coolant at any oil change regardless and change at or before the 60,000 mile mark!

your spark plugs should be okay unless you have a more rough than usual sounding engine. it should be smooth and if not, it should be checked out at the dealer regardless due to warranty!

I just had mine in for a 30,000 mile checkup and you do not need new spark plugs. According to the 3 different dealerships that I called, the spark plugs don't need to be replaced until 100,000.

Its really just the transfer case and transmission service that needs to be done (and of course the oil change). If you do those at seperate times it makes it cheaper that way. If you do it all together, that is a bill alright. The air filter you can check anyway and you can get at autozone. Fuel filter, at another time too.

I've got a K&N and I do all my oil jobs. I've done transmissions before (RX-7) so I'm not really concerned about doing it. I'm going to call a few other places and see what they say. If it's going to be more than about 300.00 I'm doing myself. at least this way I kjnow that a guy right outa tech school isn't using an air wrench to tighten my oil drain plug, I've seen it tried before and I stoped him before he got 3 feet from my car. Can anyone recomend some good tranny and transfer case oil?

If you have a quick lube close by they usually can do it. If you don't like there brand of oil bring in the type you want used and they will just charge for the labor, at least that what they do in my town.

Deltadawn, How you know that you have to perform those task? I do not think that is the service schedule.
