Another Hi-Lift custom mount....
I don't understand, specially you guys so concerned about safety, I always ask. is having a hi- lift on your rig that important?
. I don't like to see that thing even in my garage , much less inside my jeep
. when I go wheeling I just tie it down to my spare. just don't get it. I'm only talking about looks, not safety, why you want that ugly thing inside your jeep is beyond me, much more if is about safety. but to each his own.

I am honestly kind of surprised this topic gets this much consideraton and worry. We all know that Hi-Lift basiclly builds a bomb proof jack. If they didn't we wouldn't buy it. It can take abuse and handle the elements. I believe in just mounting the jack outside in a manner that is safe and secure from thieves and forget about it until you need it. I quick rinse and maybe a shot of lube should keep it in working like the rest of the out side of the Jeep. Just another two cents..........
Thanks for the write-up! I did something similar based on what you did but I mounted it down lower. The U-bolts that I got from Tractor Supply weren't threaded down far enough for me to fully tighten everything down so I used a couple of 5/8" nuts as spacers. I also used some cheap Velcro straps to hold the handle in place so that it doesn't rattle around.

Nope, it worked fine. I ran it like that for a long time, just took it off the other day. It was beefy and didn't rattle or come lose. I may put it back since the bumper i ordered doesn't have a mount for it.
