Any write on Rugged Ridge snorkel yet?
I havent seen one. I've sen pictures of installations, a few comments here and there. The instructions are very detailed. I did my install last weekend and it was a piece of cake. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
I did my install last weekend. It was pretty straight forward. Good instructions as mentioned. Take your time and I'd recommend using a good pair of scissors to cut the silicone elbow with vs. a utility knife for better precision.
For the first week, I ran the lower expedition snorkel and noted a very slight improvement in mpg for my 60 mile daily commute. This week, I've added the safari style snorkel and will see how it does.
To make switching back and forth between setups easy, I've added a set of plugs to my windshield light to easily unplug or plug them in.
I have to say, the snorkel is really well done and solid.

The snorkel kit uses the factory top part of the air box and hose that connects to the engine. They give you a new bottom part of the box.
Related to the lift issue, my understanding is that they are referring to a body lift and not a suspension lift. However, you should be fine with a body lift of ~1.25" as noted by another forum member. Search all the threads with Rugged Ridge Snorkel (it's in the sponsor forum) for more info about this.

Thanks for the info. Was it an easy install?
It was pretty easy. Just took a lot of time to carefully take everything apart and then reassemble. The cutting of the fender was actually a lot of fun (I didn't like the idea at first, but...better than cutting the hood) and with a pnuematic cutoff wheel, it was a breeze.
