Bent, Chipping, & Rusting Door Frame?
A couple years ago I slightly rolled my JK into a tree and consequently pinched the upper door frame above the window. As the pictures show the dent and chipping paint is only about 10" x 2.5". The dent doesn't interfere with the function of the door or roof, so to preserve whats left of the door I thought to chip away the remaining paint between the 2 big scratches, then sand and prep the metal for painting.
Is this overkill, and should I only try and clean up the paint by the exposed metal and leave the painted metal in the middle?
Any advise appreciated?

If the paint is in good shape I'd just feather out what you have and prep, prime, and paint. However, if the paint in between is fatigued and peels easy I'd remove it and then start.
