Default Bilstien Steering Stabilizer

I decided to install a steering stabilizer. More out of curiosity of what it would or would not do, rather than needing a SS. Installation was about 10minutes. 18mm socket and wrench. Purchased from a sponsor ORW. Took a short 5 mile test run and steering appeared a little tighter but nothing too drastic. I'll report more after driving for a bit tomorrow. Also, I mounted in the stock location with the body toward the tire side. I'll probably put a relocation bracket on. But wanted to see what changes it would make before spending anymore money. Also found it interesting that Bilstien is a German company but the part is assmembled in the USA.

About 24 miles on 2 lane roads today 45-60 mph. Steering appears to be a little tighter. I might be heading a little left of center down the road. I checked center on the steering wheel last night and it was ok (via Procal).

Now, I won't say it's pushing me left.. Got to let it break in a little and reevaluate.

I was concerned about it pushing me left as well because these are gas charged. When I got mine I was surprised that it pushed out like a shock and thought it might force my steering to go left. But after installing I didn't feel it do that. Tracked very well in fact. Overall big improvement over stock and over the TF SS which didn't last 2 months.

How do you have it mounted? Not sure if this makes sense, but it seems like the lateral movement "milkshake" is less or gone when I hit some bumps.

X2 my TF didn't last long either, What gives? and I also got the bilstein installed now, It's been about a week and a half and so far so good. Renpia, haw long have you had your bilstein for? If it lasts, it should be worth the extra dough. TF did send me a replacement, so now I have a spare

I have the rod end mounted to my TB bracket on the axle end and the body mounted to the top of the tie rod. This had the best clearance for my set up and out of the of rocks.

I had my Billsteins on for over a month now maybe longer. So far performs so much better than the others. I didn't even bother with a TF replacement.

Does it matter which way it is mounted, for the functionality of the steering stabilizer, I have mine with the telescoping shaft to the tie rod

Just bought a TF SS ( on Dave recommendation-Northridge). Don't like what I'm reading about TF. Will post if I have a problem.
