Cherry Bomb Extreme Install
i decided i was tired of the pitiful sound of the stock exhaust so i got something that would let it breathe. and now it sounds like an angry lion.
so here is how i did it:
cut the inlet to the stock muffler right next to the muffler (left red circled area).
lubed up the rubber hangers with some wd40 and pulled the stock off. you gotta use a little force getting the hangers out of the holes. for the right circled area i cut that off at the muffler to make a tip (i did NOT pay for any extra tubing)
placed the bomb where i wanted it and welded it up. yes, i did leave the stock clamp on it in case i wanted to return it to stock at some point (by simply welding it back on where i sawed it off)
there is a ton of room where the stock muffler once was now... evap relocate or air tank/compressor

on the lift (keep in mind the angle of the shot is from below)

from the view of a corvette/miata (tip/downpipe is on now):

barely see the tip:

completed (bad phone pic):

i realize this is an excessive amount of pictures but i hate when people post what they did with very few pics.
if someone wants a sound/video clip let me know and ill post one. though i doubt it would do justice to how LOUD this thing really is.
if you want to annoy just about everyone this is the muffler for you. about as simple as i can put it. L O U D
In terms of 'gains' i feel like the airflow is much less restricted and i have better (quicker) acceleration plus the pedal is more responsive. and... i have stock intake.
i just put it on friday so i can't say how it will affect mileage yet.
oo yea. muffler ran $65 shipped and use of the lift & welder along with the exhaust tech's help at the shop ran $35... so i have a high flow exhaust for $100, I'd say that's not too bad.
