Default CHMSL mod

Taking the idea from this thread, decided to cut my third brake light off and put it behind the spare tire so I wouldn't have to keep looking at it. The part that bothered me the most was the fact that I could see the damn thing light up at night, and that annoyed me. So, I commenced cutting. I used a Dremel with a 1.5" metal cutting blade, and it worked great on this application. I painted all the cut edges with grill paint, because it is high heat, sticks well, and is also flat black.
Here are all the measurements for the way I did it, which is as high as possible inside the 17" optional rims.

I did it high so that people who sit lower than the back of my Jeep (most cars) will see it better, but you can still see it just fine from above as well. Also, there will be a lift one day, so the better you can see it from below, the less likely you are to run into my Jeep.
Here is a quick fit check before I tighten all the bolts.

Here it is installed (I also shortened the cord for the lights).

And here are the money shots.
Down low

Standing up

I will take a dark shot later tonight, but I have a feeling that the whole rim is going to light up.

Cliff's notes: Got bored, had a saw and a plan.
