Default Delta Halo Headlight Review

Hey all!

Link: Store | Delta Tech Industries, LLC

As requested by Delta Tech Industries in exchange for a good deal on headlights (part number: 01-1198-LEDH - adapter included) I have documented and reviewed these great headlights. These have halo lights included and a non halo option is available for around $450 I think. These headlights retail for roughly $591 and in the same ballpark of trucklights and JW Speakers. These LED headlights are 100% DOT approved. The color is a bright white and not blue, nor yellow. Also, I was very interested in these because they are MADE IN THE USA. I prefer to support USA products rather than spend my money over seas. I digress; Let's get to the review!

First: Packaging. A+
I will say that the packaging was sufficient, with padding between the headlights, and paper padding all around the headlights. They came with no blemishes or scratches.

Second: Install. B+
As for the standard headlight, install was pretty straight forward.. Pop old ones out, put new ones in. For the Halo, however, the directions for the wiring of the Halos could be better. On my 2015 JKU the wiring diagram on the fusebox was different than in the directions so I just plugged into a fuse that was hot ONLY on battery/ignition (I will post exact fuse later). I had to drill a hole (see picture) for ground near the grill. I have two qualms with the install:

1) As the instructions indicated, it was recommended to route the wires under and away from the radiator, however there was not enough wire to do so, thus resulting in the routing in front of the radiator and zip tied to the bar in front (in a cool spot).

2) The rim/bezel on the headlights is just ever so slightly too wide (perhaps by 1/16") so that when screwing the headlights in, they hit the bezel and go in crooked until you pass the bezel. It should be noted that the screws went in fine, just would have been easier if the bezel was of a slightly smaller diameter.

Third (and most juicy): Actual Lighting. A- (docked for brights until i play with it more)

I will say these are probably 2-3x as bright and have a WAY better peripheral vision as well as range. I can finally see the sides of the road due to the great throw of the headlights and see probably 200-300ft ahead.

Down road:

Delta (drivers side) vs stock (pass side - can you even see it? lol):

They do not have as much of a pronounced "X" in front of me, however I can still see a slight delineation of the beams, but no big deal. It is not noticeable when driving. The design on the lens has a stairstep style so that light is diffused away from other drivers. It should be noted that there is no visible dead zone where light does not hit in front of me.

My only issue is that the brights are aimed a little high compared to the dims, so that when you switch, the brights are stacked vertically on top of the dims (not sure if that design is normal or not). HOWEVER, Those brights... are... well.. BRIGHT. I have traffic signs that i flashed them at and I literally could not read what the sign said because they were so bright. I'm still playing with the aiming, so it could very well be a simple fix.

IMPORTANT: There is absolutely zero lag between switching from high to low and low to high. The harness is perfect.

As with most LED lights, I do see a every so slight flicker, but ONLY when I am sitting behind a car at a stop light; It is not visible during driving.

Halos: Look awesome and are my DRL's. A+

Summary:
Overall I am VERY pleased with these lights. They are worth the money and can definitely compete with the other brands such as TL or JW. They were semi local to me (SoCal) so that was a plus. I have yet to get flashed or see any "dead zones" in front of me.

I'm in love.

Great review! Glad these worked out for you. I'll be adding these to my list of headlights to compare.
Two things:
Can you post a couple pics of the lights in the day. One with the halos off and one with them on? Thanks!
Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but these - like most LED lights - are not heated for winter snow removal, correct?

Thanks! Sure. here they are.

also, they are not heated, but when they are on, you can definitely feel heat. Whether or not that heat is enough to melt snow or ice remains to be seen. I would imagine that after enough time, the snow will melt.
