DieTech Seat Fire Extinguisher Install w/Pics
For anyone who has ever worked on their Jeeps, you probably do not need this write up to help you install the kit. It's extremely simple. But I was bored and decided to make a write-up cuz I was doing it anyways, a few pictures don't take long.
Tools Needed:
Supplied Hardware in Kit
4mm Allen Wrench
Hands
1) Take apart supplied bracket assembly
2) Take seat mounting bracket and align top right hole BEHIND the seat rail with hole in seat rail
3) Align holes in extinguisher bracket in FRONT of seat rail w/upper left lip resting on top of seat frame
4) First finger tighten the upper right allen bolt through both bracket assemblies and seat rail
5) Finger tighten bottom left allen bolt through both mounting brackets, making sure upper left lip is seated on TOP of seat rail.
6) Tighten all bolts with 4mm allen wrench
7) Mount extinguisher in bracket w/nozzle pointed UP and clipped firmly in.
8) Check clearances and you're done

Looks good, I have my huge flashlight mounted there and extingusher on the rear roll bar. Probably should switch locations as the extinguisher should be more accessable like yours

I liked the roll bar kits but I'm rockin the hardtop 8 months out of the year because it never stops raining here, and some clubs require it to be "within reach" of driver. I think it's a great location, when I get my tuffy overhead console I'll attach a flashlight holder to that.

I don't know where you can find an ABC rated *new* fire extinguisher for $10-15... cheapest price I can find online is almost $30 shipped. I'm sure you could get a used re-filled one locally somewhere but I would still think that price is more like $20 unless you are a FD member.
Even so, I would still spend the $50 on the bracket system.
