Thanks for the props. The latch is holding securely even with the extreme cold we got this week.

Thanks!!!!!
I've got an 08 that now has horrible wind noise, just living with it because I too am not going to off-center my loop (have a 10 and it bugs me but that's another story) and have kicked around many potential solutions and not happy with any of them. This, I think I'll try. |
THIS IS WHAT IVE BEEN LOOKING FOR!!!!
My 4 year old soft top is on its last thread and has developed noises on the highway that load, annoying, and alittle bit strange. I swear my soft top was growling at me this morning on the way to work. Anyway, I got a decent deal lined up on a 2010 hardtop that I can now pull the trigger on. THANK YOU!!!! |
So if I got a 2012 hard top for my 2008 this is all I would need to do?
|
Not sure how much different the 2012's are in the front. The back window is wider. Check the front latching on friends newer jk

I applaud all the hard work you did......
But that loop is not for the latch, thats the windshield tie down loop (for when you lower the window, you lash it down with the loop on our hood). The short arm on the latch is supposed to cross over the left and right side of the freedom top....and not the windshield. Like so... Attachment 93631 Kind of funny....really..... The 2007-2010 use the same footman loop as a hold down for the latch on freedom panel. This is why yours doesn't look like this. |
