This looks so doable without drilling, using an "S" bracket for the vertical bar attachments. I'll have to look into this.

The downside being rock chip the paint and the metal will rust where aluminum wouldn't but this is easier to find.

My hope is that it will not chip. If it does, then my next option is taking it to a linex or rhino lining place. I believe that duplicolor truck sprayin bed liner should work. The aluminum was tough to find and everything else looked to flimsy...like it would dent or bend easily.

If you do the s-brackets, please post

I used a plastic coated wire mesh. I just cut it to fit in one piece and sandwiched it between the front grill and cross bars for radiator and it stays just fine . no zip ties no glue. no brackets. has noone else tried this. It has been there a year and no problems so far.

I did mine the old way, and I also use plastic mesh. Boy now I feel like a real lightweight.

Has anyone tried smaller holes in the mesh to keep out bugs and other small junk.

I used really small holes from an alumininum doggy gate from Home Depot. I used zip ties and the zip tie mounts. B ugs and rocks can't ge through, but the air goes right on in.

I plan on using the wire mesh that it used to do stonework on fireplaces and such. I am not certain the material but one side has a sharp edge that would be great to chop up bugs and the such.
