also if you go to harbor freight, you can get the star key socket now for 2.99 unless they jack the price up to 5.99
its a 50 star wrench

Best of luck and happy driving

i just leave the "nuts" off now because its only one more step between me and doorless driving.

a note, maybe shoot a little WD40 or PB Blaster in the joints and work your doors back and forth to work the lube in. after that put a little grease on the shafts that slide back in the sockets. it will help next time you take them off.

Lots of videos on youtube in addition. just forewarning, if you have an older JK, or in some cases new ones are just tough, you will probably want 2 people the first time you do it so you can grease the hinges up after. They can and will stick the first time you try to get them off and will require some umph. better to have 2 people so you dont become a statistic to the "oh crap I dropped my door" group

Park facing slightly uphill. That way you won't have the doors accidentally swing too far forward on you resulting in the cowl dimples that many of us have.

Don't knock on the dimple mod! It adds 4 HP..... I've been sporting mine for way too long now...

Open the windows before unhooking and taking the doors off. Carrying the weight of the doors is a lot easier when you have one arm through the window and hold the interior handle.
