I have tried a few things and I have found Meguiars Ultimate Black works great. You can see the difference in what the trim looks like from the fender flare to the running board. I rub a little each time I wash the jeep. If I go a little while between washes, sometimes I have to use a second application. However, it's like anything else, you have to reapply ever so often. But I find it works really well.

I just had my rear bumper off a couple of days ago to install an AEV tire carrier, and took the
oppotunity to clean it thoroughly and try a product recommended by a few folks on here called
Car Worx Refinisher Restorer. I was very impressed. Turned out looking like new, seriously.
It took very little to do the entire bumper and if it holds up as well as it has for some , I will
use it over the 303 from now on. At least on the bumpers, not my soft top.
Not cheap, or easy to find, but worth it to me.

303 protectant works and I've heard and seen a heat gun does too. I don't have any more factory anything anymore, but 303 on the fenders and bumpers works extremely well. I've never tried the heat gun, but I've heard it works great. There are videos on youtube. I still use the 303 on my steel fenders and dash when cleaning. Highly recommended!

All else fails, Bedline it!

I used 220 grit, plastic primer, and rust-o bedliner... After 5 months no chips or peeling. Super easy to clean up after mudding.

Not great pics, but you get the point...
