What you will need:

1) 15-25 foot outdoor extension cord with ground (3 prong)
2) stripper tool
3) momentary in/out rocker switch

First, cut the ends off of your extension cord and run your wiring. Once you have your path, drill a 3/8" hole in your winch's control box to run the cord through.

Next, splice your wires to your winch's control box using the screws on the motors. You will have 3 wires: Power, in & out. With the ENGO winches, you do not have to splice in the wiring as there is post with screws on the motors. See below:

Then all you need to do is wire to your rocker switch and your done! Super simple and cost about $20.

Thanks for the write up, I'm headed outside to replace a busted shock and may do this real quick.

Long as you wire in parallel. Meaning, leave three original wires connected.

It took all of 1 hour and I was doing the write up and figuring it out myself for the first time. It's way easier than you think!

One of these would be nice to add for additional waterproofing and strain relief at the bulkhead of the controller. Super easy to use as well and they come in several materials/colors.

You just answered my question...

I could hook this up to the Spod I am about to purchase. Guess I would need one rocker switch.

This is exactly what ENGO uses for the wiring off of the control box from the factory. I just used zip ties on either side of the hole so you can't pull out the wire and RTV on the inside and outside to waterproof it. This would be a more professional install.
