Hardtop Thumbscrews
This is a very simple modification but wanted to share it. I suspect others have done similar things and I couldn't find any posts in the forum so forgive me if this has been posted before.
I changed the 6 Torx bolts that secure the hardtop on my 2-door '07 JK with 6 thumbscrews. This makes taking off the hardtop much simpler.

This is a pic of the actual thumbscrew:

I purchased the thumbscrews from MSC Direct. Below is the bag showing the manufacturer and size (M8x30 mm)

This along with my new lift allows me to remove or install my top in approximately 5 minutes.
Just in time for winter
I have had this installed now for about a month and have removed/installed my hardtop several times - it works great.

I wasn't sure if this was obvious or not. I'm glad it helped out a little.
FYI: The MSC Direct part number is 82054685. The total cost for 6 was under $20 but that was with a discount through my company. It is a little over $20 for the listed cost. Either way a fairly inexpensive upgrade. But I don't understand why Jeep wouldn't have thought to make these easier to remove.
