Has anyone installed a rear winch?
How did you wire it up? What wire sizes did you use?
I'm pulling the trigger on a rear bumper with winch mount and was curious if there were any tricks to wiring up the winch back there.
Thanks for any help

I definately recomend using a switched relay so that those cables aren't hot all the time. That way if the cable gets damaged it won't wreck your battery or start a fire.
For the rear I'll just be using a smitty xrc8. Mounting it in the Benchmark bumper on my 2 door.
The wiring is cake.
Mount one of these at the battery:

Run 2 gauge power & ground from the battery to the rear trunk.
Mount the winch solenoid pack in the rear trunk.
Make/buy longer 32" leads from the solenoid pack to the winch motor.
Then get a wireless winch controller or just throw the regular winch controller in the rear trunk for when you need it.

Great! Thanks!
Guess I'll need two of those for running a front winch also?
BTW Can I run a hitch with the winch back there? I'm towing my camping trailer a lot these days.

You only need one winch fuse. You can attach both winches to the fused side of the holder. As long as you're not using both winches at the same time under full load, you'll be fine. (i.e. don't try to use front and rear winches to stretch your 2 door into a 4 door)

There's a hitch included with the new bumper.
Also, FYI, we're a little backordered on these right now so order soon if you need it soon. We've made some fine tuning changes to improve the bumper, but it has caused some delays.
I'm trying to figure out how a hitch would work with that, at least one like the stock hitch. The bolts go right where the winch is, so can't figure that one out. I can see how an aftermarket one that mounts to the frame would work provided it stays under the bumper, but that looks like it might need to be custom made.
