Are the rear window side panels fairly helpful for sound and heat or more of an aesthetic improvement to match the headliner?

Santa dropped one of these sets down the chimney the other night. Very nice. Easy installation and great looks. One of the main benefits I was looking for was an improvement in acoustics and I think that was accomplished. Before this my jeep was all hard surfaces-Leather, plastic, rubber so sound just bounced around.

To answer your question...the side panels are for looks only (I think they are too small in volume to have any other significant benefit) and they do complete the set nicely.

If you want to spend $269 for a 3M Headliner Kit........
go to the Rag shop or w/e and do it yourself in a weekend from less then $50 bucks. all you need is a sharp knife.
